NJ Security Officer Licences are issued by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP). All applicants register with the NJPS by creating an account at njsp.org.

What are the steps and fee s for getting certified as a security guard license?

For New Jersey the 3-step process is:

  1. Register with the New Jersey State Police ($75) -->Link
  2. Take a 24 hour course with a licensed instructor ($159 at AllBoro) -->Link
  3. Have your fingerprints taken for background check ($6 7.38 ) -->Link
Can I get help with the paperwork?

How do I register with the NJ State Police?
  1. Go to njsp.org and click on the “services” drop down menu
  2. C lick on SORA Information
  3. Scroll down to the "Application Section" and click on Security Officer Application
  4. F ollow steps to create an account and acquire your six digit ID number
How to I book a fingerprint appointment?

Register ing with the State Police will generate your Universal Fingerprint Form.

Go to the link they provide and schedule an appointment with IdentoGO .

Do I have to pass a test? Do you refund my money if I don’t pass?

Yes, you must pass a test to become licensed. All topics on the test are covered in the course. While tuition and fees are non-refundable, if you don't achieve a passing grade we will provide a review and re-test for you at no additional cost.

Does it make a difference who I take the training with?

Yes! Our instructor has over 30 years experience in law enforcement in the NYPD and as head of Security at several large colleges in New Jersey. He can provide real-life situation experience and assist with helpful tips for your job search.

What if I have a criminal record?

Each case is different. It is up to the NJ State Police to determine if any past record will disqualify you. Call 609.341.3426, (prompt #2) to reach the NJSP directly. You can also contact AllBoro Security Training to consult on what information you will be asked to provide.

Does All Boro offer jobs referrals? Can you help me get a job?

Where can I p ark when I attend class at AllBoro 's training center ?

Ferry Street has metered street parking . On the street perpendicular to Ferry St. (like Prospect, Union and Congress), you will find 4 hour parking. Parking l ots one block away charge under $10 for the day. AllBoro Training in not able to offer free parking to students taking our class.
